The Terrible Podcast – Talking Starks, Scott, Wallace & Interview With John Eisenberg Episode

Steelers PodcastSeason 2, Episode 127 of The Terrible Podcast is up and with co-host David Todd tied up today, I fly solo in the first part of the show and give my thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers bringing back tackle Max Starks on Tuesday and the releasing of Jonathan Scott on Thursday. Will the Steelers add another camp body tackle to the roster prior to the start of camp? I give my thoughts.

How do these moves affect the salary cap and does this put the Steelers even closer to getting a long-term deal done now with restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace? I certainly think so and I go into greater detail on what the structure of a new deal with Wallace, if it gets done, might look like. I also try to calm the fears of the Steelers not being able to keep both Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders next offseason should Wallace get his deal this year.

Also in part one of the show I talk about former Steelers linebacker Joey Porter announcing this week that he will retire later this year as a Steeler. In addition I discuss the comment made by safety Troy Polamalu during his radio interviews with both Dan Patrick and Colin Cowherd this week in regard to concussions and the game losing the fear factor element.

In part two of the podcast is my interview with John Eisenberg, who covers the Baltimore Ravens for CSNBaltimore.com. We have had John on the show a couple of times now and get his thoughts on Ravens as they head into training camp. We discuss the new contract that Ray Rice received this week and what it likely means to both Joe Flacco and Ed Reed. We also discuss the Ravens veteran offensive line, losses during free agency and both their secondary and linebacker positions. John lets us know three things that could be concerning to the Ravens as the head into the season. John is a great guest and I highly encourage you to follow him on Twitter at @CSNEisenberg and read his work online at www.CSNBaltimore.com as well.

Love listening to the show, and first time respond er. I admire your optimism pertaining to, the area of time, where Mike Wallace signs his contract. As I am hopeful, but I also have the history of Steeler’s management that illustrates its practice in regards to singing a long term deals with a player. They simply dont reward a long term deal to a ” No Show” in camp. At least in the thirty-three years I have followed them.

Dave – Don’t think you break the bank with signing bonus to Wallace. Like Wallace but not sure he’s Vincent Jackson money. If he does, he better be ready to step his game up.
