This is the second of many special training camp editions of the The Terrible Podcast with co-host David Todd tied up with radio work this evening, I am joined by Derek Nesselrodt, who attended his first ever Pittsburgh Steelers training camp practice today. Derek is a very knowledgeable fan of the Steelers and you can follow him on Twitter at @calmkiller.
With the news hot off the wire that the Steelers signed wide receiver Antonio Brown to five year, $42.5 million extension late on Friday, Derek and I can\’t help but to talk about it and what it might mean to the still unsigned Mike Wallace.
We then move on to discuss what Derek observed at the Friday practice. We mostly discuss what he saw on the offensive side of the ball and that includes talking about the offensive line, formations and personnel. Derek says that running back Baron Batch is showing no ill effects from the torn ACL he suffered last year in training camp and he also says that wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders looks to be back to full health as well.
We flip over to the defensive side of the ball towards the end of the episode and discuss what a few things that stuck out to him today with that unit.
We thank Derek for his time tonight and hope to have him on again in the future. If you are on Twitter, please give him a follow and give him a shout.
As always, thanks for listening and don\’t forget to call or email with questions or comments and please pass us along to your friends!
