Tuesday signaled the start of the second week of training camp practice for the Pittsburgh Steelers and with that, we continue on with our special edition training camp episodes of The Terrible Podcast. We like to reach out to not only the media in these podcast, but the fan base as well, and tonight we have Jeri, who is a long time Steelers fan that is very active on the PG Plus boards. Jeri was at practice on Tuesday and she gives us a full detailed report on the offense today, as that was the best vantage point for her. Her rundown includes letting us know how Todd Haley differs from Bruce Arians as a teacher and how he appears to be a more hands-on coach.
Jeri informs us that Tuesday consisted of quite a bit of passing and work on the no-huddle and hurry-up offense. We go position by position of who stood out in her eyes and she is not shy about telling how impressed she is with running back Chris Rainey. Jeri also liked what she saw out of free agent quarterback Jerrod Johnson as well, as he is attempting to compete for the number three quarterback spot on the roster. Jeri lets is know she observed quite a few two running back sets today while at practice. Can you say rocket? We get a rundown of the position flexibility shown by several offensive linemen today as she spotted Ramon Foster getting some work at right tackle today and believes she saw David DeCastro even get a snap or three at center. We even get some kicker and punter talk in as well.
We enjoy getting a fan perspective from training camp and I think you will agree that Jeri has a good grasp on what was going on today out at Latrobe. We thank her for her time.
We will continue these mini podcast updates all through training camp and we appreciate all of the great feedback we have gotten on them.
