Joey Porter, Aaron Smith, Marvel Smith & Willie Parker To Retire Tonight At Latrobe Stadium

Tonight is the annual “Friday Night Lights” practice for the Pittsburgh Steelers at Latrobe Memorial Stadium and fans that are in attendance will get a treat as Bob Labriola reports via Twitter that former Steelers Joey Porter, Aaron Smith, Marvel Smith and Willie Parker will all be present and have their retirements announced.

Porter announced just last month that he was set to retire a Steeler after 13 seasons in the NFL. He was originally drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 1999 draft and played his first 8 years in the league with the Steelers.

Aaron was drafted in the fourth round of the 1999 draft by the Steelers and played all 13 years of his career in Pittsburgh as a defensive end. He was released this past offseason.

Marvel played tackle all 9 years of his career with the Steelers after being drafted by Pittsburgh in the second round of the 2000 draft. He started 108 games during that span.

Parker played running back 6 years with the Steelers after originally being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2004.
