Report: Steelers LB Stevenson Sylvester Out With Torn MCL In Knee

The injury bug is back and this time it has hit Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Stevenson Sylvester, as according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, he will be out three to four weeks after tearing the medial collateral ligament in his knee.

Sylvester was considered to be the top backup to inside linebacker Larry Foote at the BUCK position heading into the season and he also was getting looks at the backup left outside linebacker spot throughout training camp and the first preseason game with Jason Worilds still sidelined on the PUP list by a wrist injury.

In addition to Worilds being sidelined and not yet practicing, outside linebacker James Harrison also remains on the PUP list and has yet to practice since the first week of OTA\’s. Harrison underwent a scope procedure this past week on his left knee.

With Sylvester now out, look for rookie linebacker Sean Spence and veteran free agent linebacker Brandon Johnson to both get time tonight against the Indianapolis Colts at the BUCK linebacker position.

Another player to watch tonight is Adrian Robinson to see if he gets some earlier reps this week at outside linebacker.
