Steelers Make Roster Moves – Trim To 75

The Pittsburgh Steelers trimmed their roster to 75 players today releasing 14 and waiving linebacker Mortty Ivy injured. The team also gave kicker Shaun Suisham an early vote of confidence as they released kicker Danny Hrapmann. None of the other names on the list are surprising as the team works toward the final 53 man roster following the game against the Carolina Panthers Saturday night.

  • Only player maybe a surprise was Mccoy. Though I thought Paulson had the edge on him anyways still thought he’d stick around till next cut.

  • I have a feeling the release of Hrapmann is going to be a mistake that could bite us in the buttocks some day. .

Really wish they went with Hrapmann as no confidence in Suisham….

This is the point I always struggle when cuts like this come along. Who is left? What decisions are left to make? From the specialists perspective, it looks like the only decision left is punter. The LS and PK are decided.

Offense and Defensive cuts though are still much harder for me to make at this point. There are probably 1 or 2 left at every position to go, so it appears we are now down to the last battles.

I really don’t get releasing Hrapmann. Considering how inconsistent Suish has been, seems like it would be in the Steelers’ best interests to take Hrapmann for cheap and just take the cap hit. Of course, I never saw him kick in practice, but in preseason games, he was pretty consistent. Thoughts?

I made a draft prediction back in April and someone laughed at me about drafting Russell Wilson. I showed Steelers taking him with one of there 7th round picks.

I don’t think any of the 7th rd picks will make the squad this year. I know he was drafted in the third round he was not available in the 7th.

But someone told me he wouldn’t even get drafted hmmm who was that?

  • Koleman Dudek

I think both Fredrick and Paulson should crack the opening day 53 roster. Paulson may get cut when Saunders comes back from suspension.

I was impressed with Butler again this week as our punter. I was surprised not to see Kapinos name on here..

Considering 3 former pro bowl kickers got cut this weekend, this situation hasn’t been resolved yet. I think they will go with a released vet and keep Hrapmann’s phone number.

    Let’s get Cundiff in here!

doesnt really matter since Wilson was long gone by the 7th round. so your prediction was just as bad as anyone else’s

I called the Hrapmann release…it just made sense…understandable with Ivy…McCoy was a lil surprise as was Baker IMO since Baker seemed to be in the game early and played for a while.

You dont get it. It is that simple
