Steelers RB Isaac Redman Still Dealing With Injured Hip

Alan Robinson of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Tuesday via Twitter that Pittsburgh Steelers running back Isaac Redman said today that the MRI that he had last week revealed that the injury that currently has him out of action is to his hip and not his groin. Robinson reports that Redman said that he is getting better every day.

Redman now figures to be limited to working on the side this week at practice and it seems unlikely at this point that he will play in the third preseason game this coming Saturday against the Buffalo Bills.

The injury is rumored to have been bothering Redman for some time know and it can likely be traced back to the Steelers Friday Night Lights practice several weeks ago. Despite the injury, Redman did play a series in the Steelers first preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

With Redman likely to be sidelined, and Rashard Mendenhall still not ready for game action, the bulk of the carries this Saturday against the Bills figure to once again be divided between Jonathan Dwyer, Baron Batch, Chris Rainey and the newly signed Jason Ford.

The Steelers are unlikely to rush Redman back to action until he is 100% and that means he likely will not get much work, if any, in the Steelers final preseason game against the Carolina Panthers as well.
