The Terrible Podcast – Talking Max Starks News, Defense, Wide Receivers & More Episode

Steelers PodcastSeason 3, Episode 5 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I start off by talking about the state of the offensive line right now heading into the second preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts. That talk turns to more of a focus on Max Starks as news breaks during our recording of the show that Starks has been removed from the PUP list as of today.

Some more news comes in during the show about Mike Wallace, which really isn\'t new news, but we briefly discuss it just the same as we can\'t go an episode without discussing his situation. We move on to talk about the decision to waive injured fullback David Johnson on Monday and sign tight end/fullback Justin Peelle to take his place on the 90 man roster. This signing, as we discuss, should serve to push both Leonard Pope and Jamie McCoy for the rest of training camp and the preseason.

The show moves on and we discuss observations I have made from the defensive participation chart from the first preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles. This talk turns to my concern that outside linebacker Jason Worilds might start the season on the PUP list as the Steelers sure have been mighty cryptic about his status so far in camp.

We close the episode down by talking about the interview David had a few days with wide receivers coach Scottie Montgomery and how we think the bottom of the wide receiver depth chart looks right now based on his comments and what we observed on film. We also continue on with our talk about undrafted free agent linebacker Adrian Robinson and his chances of both making the 53 man roster or clearing waivers and signed to the practice squad.

About Dave Bryan

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Thanks for the O-line talk. Things felt a bit desperate this week, but it’s a good time for a deep breath. Four of the 5 positions have young, quality starters: RT, RG, C, and LG. LT is less sure, but Max is more than adequate, and Adams can come along. Foster and Legursky are quality depth, so the big question might be T depth. And maybe Lee is coming along. Injuries are always a wild card, but that’s out of our hands.

  • Bling

Why was Mike Adams completely unprepared for a wide 9?
