Jets WR Santonio Holmes Might Have Suffered A Season Ending Torn ACL Against 49ers

New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes might have suffered a season ending knee injury in the second half the game against the San Fransisco 49ers.

Holmes crumpled to the ground after his left knee gave out on him following a catch. To make matters worse, Holmes dropped the football on his way to the ground and 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers returned it for a touchdown.

The former first round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers was carted off of to the locker room immediately and the fear is that he tore his ACL. The Jets also lost their number one cornerback Darrelle Revis last week for the season after he tore his ACL.

UPDATE: It appears that Holmes suffered a foot injury, not a knee injury, according to early reports. X-rays on Holmes\’ foot were negative, but they are not sure if there\’s ligament damage.
