Larry Foote To Practice Thursday After Sitting Out Wednesday

When the Pittsburgh Steelers injury report was released on Wednesday, an unexpected name showed up on it in the form of starting BUCK linebacker Larry Foote, who sat out practice with an ankle issue.

The injury was not speculated to be serious in nature and Foote said on Thursday that the ankle in question was just “tweaked” and that he is practicing today, according to Tim Benz of 105 The X Radio on Twitter.

With Foote sitting out Wednesday, it afforded Brandon Johnson some extra snaps with the first team calling the defense, as he would be the next man up with Stevenson Sylvester still sidelined by his knee injury that he suffered late in training camp.

It is good to hear that Foote should be good to go Sunday night in the opener against the Denver Broncos as the Steelers just do not have quality depth backing him up at the position. While Johnson is a veteran, he is not starter caliber.

The last thing the Steelers need is yet another injury to their linebacking unit, but it appears that Foote should be good to go. We will update his status when the Thursday injury report is released later on today.
