Report: James Harrison Leaves Steelers Facility Prior To Wednesday Practice

We told you on Tuesday that Wednesday would be a key day for Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison, and it appears that all might not have gone well today.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports via Twitter that Harrison left the Steelers facility in street clothes before practice on Wednesday. As Bouchette adds, that is not a good sign.

The linebacker took to Twitter on Tuesday to say that he worked fully in practice earlier in the day and that his hopes were that he would be able to go Wednesday as well. The speculation on this end is that the left knee that Harrison had a procedure done on in mid August did not respond well to the Tuesday work.

Right now you have to wonder if Harrison will ever play another down for the Steelers. The team is heading into their bye week and we are unlikely to know more about the situation until head coach Mike Tomlin addresses the media next Tuesday.

I stated a while ago that I was fearful that Harrison might need micro fracture surgery on the knee and I hope that I am wrong in that speculation. Right now things certainly do not sound promising.
