Steelers Broncos By The Numbers

As we get ready for the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night opener against the Denver Broncos, here are some interesting numbers that relate to the game.

1 – The number of interceptions that safety Troy Polamalu needs to become the ninth Steelers’ player to record 30 career interceptions.

2 – The number of sacks that linebacker LaMarr Woodley needs to become the eighth player in team history with 50 career sacks.

8 – The number of receptions that wide receiver Mike Wallace had last year in the opening week loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

10 – The number of completions that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger needs to reach 2,100 for his career.

11 – The number of times the Steelers have sacked quarterback Peyton Manning in the four games they have faced him.

28- The number of points the Steelers scored in the last regular season meeting against the Broncos in their 28-10 win back on Nov. 9, 2009 in Denver.

41 – The number of opening week wins the Steelers will have with a victory Sunday night, the most in the AFC.

56 – The number of receiving yards that tight end Heath Miller needs to pass Ray Mathews (3,919, 1951-59) for ninth place on the Steelers’ career receiving yards list.

75 – The age defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau will turn on Sunday.

80 – The Steelers kick off their 80th season Sunday night in Denver.

146 – The number of days until Super Bowl XLVII starting Sunday.
