Pittsburgh Steelers free safety Ryan Clark suffered a concussion in the 27-12 win Sunday over the Washington Redskins, but has already taken to Twitter to say that he will be ready to play next Sunday on the road against the New York Giants.
“Thanks for the prayers and well wishes,” tweeted Clark after the game. “I\’m good, I\’ll be back out there on Sunday against the Giants! Takes more than that.”

Clark took a shot to the head while attempting to make a tackle on Redskins running back Alfred Morris with 13:23 left in the third quarter. He was able to walk off the field under his own power, but was immediately escorted to the Steelers locker room by Dr. Joseph Maroon for further evaluation and did not return to the game.
Ryan Mundy took the place of Clark in the lineup alongside Will Allen, who was starting in place of the injured Troy Polamalu, who missed his third consecutive game with a calf injury.
The Steelers currently have safeties Robert Golden and Damon Cromartie-Smith on the roster as well after the latter of the two was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday to help on special teams.
A sign that Clark might be expected to play next week might be known as soon as Tuesday as that is when the Steelers are expected to waive Cromartie-Smith to make room on the 53 man roster for Alameda Ta\’amu, who has been on the suspended list for the last two weeks.
Head coach Mike Tomlin is expected to address the entire status of all the injured Steelers players during his regularly scheduled Tuesday press conference.
