Steelers Bring Back DE Corbin Bryant & Sign OL Jacques McClendon To Practice Squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers made a few roster moves on Tuesday as expected as they added an offensive lineman and a defensive lineman to the roster.

Nose tackle Alameda Ta’amu has been placed on the Reserved/Suspended List following his early Sunday morning arrest. Ta\’amu has been suspended for two weeks without pay.

To fill the open roster spot, the Steelers brought back defensive end Corbin Bryant, who was released during the final cutdown following the preseason. Bryant spent most of the 2011 season on the Steelers practice squad and was promoted for one game to the active roster where he saw limited playing time in the game against the Arizona Cardinals. Bryant originally joined the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern University following the lockout.

The Steelers also released tight end Jamie McCoy from the practice squad on Tuesday and signed free agent offensive lineman Jacques McClendon to take his place. McClendon was originally drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft and most recently spent time with the Detroit Lions.

With McClendon on the practice squad, the Steelers will wait and see how center Maurkice Pouncey does later on in the week. The Steelers center is currently questionable after suffering a MCL injury on the first offensive play Thursday night and never returned to the game. If Pouncey is not ready, John Malecki is expected to be promoted from the practice squad.
