Steelers Injury Report: Pouncey, Mendenhall, Redman & Timmons DNP, Woodley Works

The Pittsburgh Steelers were back on the practice field on Wednesday in preparation for their Sunday night against the Cincinnati Bengals and the first injury report of the week is now out.

Not practicing on Wednesday were safety Troy Polamalu (calf), center Maurkice Pouncey (knee), tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle), linebacker Chris Carter (hamstring), linebacker Lawrence Timmons (foot), running back Rashard Mendenhall (achilles), and running back Isaac Redman (ankle).

Pouncey ran in the pool on Wednesday and Timmons was a surprise add to the report. Polamalu, Carter and Gilbert have already ruled out for the game. Head coach Mike Tomlin mentioned on Tuesday that linebacker Brandon Johnson (hamstring) and linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (shoulder) would be questionable for the week. Johnson was limited on Wednesday while Sylvester practiced fully.

Linebacker LaMarr Woodley (hamstring), who sat out the Thursday night game against the Tennessee Titans with a minor hamstring strain, practiced on Wednesday and appears to be on course to play Sunday night.

Maybe they should stretch their hamstrings and calves a little bit more…my goodness…I admit I follow the Steelers 50x harder than anyone else…but jeez…we pull a lot of muscles . I write off the shoulders and the Spence knee injuries, the Harrison miniscus and back stuff as part of the deal. But good lord between Troy timmons woodley kiesel and Carter we have enough pulled leg muscles to write a sports medical journal about.

It’s gotta to be a off season workout issue or something. This doesn’t add up with all the hamstring injuries. Maybe they need a new strengh coach. Something is all screwed up!
