Steelers Kicker Shaun Suisham Named AFC Special Teams Player Of The Week

It was announced Wednesday morning that Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance Sunday in the 16-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Steelers kicker had a game-winning 34-yard kick as time expired on Sunday and also nailed two more field goals in the game from 20 and 34 yards in addition. So far this season Suisham has been perfect as he has connected on all 8 of his kicks this season and has not missed an extra point.

This is the second time that Suisham has been honored as the Special Teams Player of the Week as he also garnered the award while with the Washington Redskins back in week 9 of the 2007 season.

This marks the second time Suisham has been named Special Teams Player of the Week and first since being named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week while playing for the Washington Redskins in Week 9 of the 2007 season.

The game winning kick on Sunday against the Eagles was the fifth of Suisham\’s career.

The kickoffs so far this season for Suisham have not been bad either as he has recorded 11 touchbacks on 20 kickoffs.
