Steelers Offensive & Defensive Snap Counts: Week 5 Eagles

Below are the week 5 official gamebook snap counts from the Pittsburgh Steelers 16-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Offensively, Rashard Mendenhall had 22 snaps in his first game back from a torn ACL and he touched the ball on 16 of those snaps. Tight end Leonard Pope did not see the field and rookie David Paulson played 19 snaps in total. It is not hard to guess who will be out the door when the corresponding move for Weslye Saunders ultimately needs to be made. Mike Adams saw the field for his 3 plays at right tackle in place of Marcus Gilbert, who needed his groin attended to.

Defensively the Steelers rotated in Cameron Heyward, Steve McLendon and Al Woods early on in the game and that perhaps was done in an attempt to keep the others fresher for the fourth quarter. James Harrison unbelievably played all 57 snaps after it was reported late last week that he would likely split time in his season debut. Both LaMarr Woodley and Troy Polamalu played only 19 snaps each before leaving the game for good with a calf and hamstring injury respectively.

We will have a further breakdown in our weekly participation charts.
