Steelers T Marcus Gilbert Saw Doctor In North Carolina On Monday

We noted on Monday that Pittsburgh Steelers right tackle Marcus Gilbert was on a plane headed somewhere and it appears his destination was North Carolina to see a doctor for his right lower leg injury. Gilbert revealed that information on his Twitter account Monday afternoon and noted that he was headed back to Pittsburgh after that visit.

Gilbert was injured in the 26-23 loss to the Tennessee Titans Thursday night and head coach Mike Tomlin said after the game that the injury that Gilbert sustained was to his ankle. Gilbert was injured with 10:20 left in the half on a 3rd and 6 pass play and did not return to the game. You can watch the replay of the injury below in the animated gif.

Gilbert will likely be ruled out today for the game Sunday night against the Cincinnati Bengals and rookie tackle Mike Adams said on Monday that he expects to start in his place. With Gilbert likely out, we can expect to see rookie Kelvin Beachum dress Sunday night as the extra tackle
