Steelers TE Weslye Saunders Will Have To Wait Another Week To Make Season Debut

The Pittsburgh Steelers decided not to activate second year tight end Weslye Saunders to the 53 man roster this week, so that means the South Carolina product will have to wait another week until he makes his 2012 season debut.

Saunders was forced to miss the first four games after he was suspended this past February for testing positive for a banned substance.

The Steelers requested and received a roster exemption this week for Saunders, who returned to the team on Monday, and that exemption has a deadline of 4:00 p.m. Friday.

Offensive coordinator Todd Haley hinted this past week that the short week combined with Saunders being away for so long would likely result in him not playing tonight against the Tennessee Titans.
