The Terrible Podcast – Steelers Bengals Game Preview & Predictions Episode

Steelers PodcastSeason 3, Episode 31 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I start off by talking about the ending of the Thursday night game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks. Why did it upset us? I think you know why. If Ben Roethlisberger quarterbacked either of those two teams would they be instant favorites to win the Super Bowl? We discuss that and marvel at the running games that both teams have.

We move on to look at the injury situation one final time for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they head into the Sunday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals. This was recorded before the final injury report was released and we discuss Jonathan Dwyer likely to get his first career start. Of course we also preview the game one last time and talk about both teams on both sides of the ball.

Hines Ward is back in the news as a man attempted to blackmail him this week for money. David and I talk about the smoke that might end up in a big fire as it relates to the document that the blackmailer was attempting to trade for $15,000.

A doctor who was released from the Steelers medical staff five years ago after investigators questioned his bulk purchase of anabolic steroids has been indicted now for illegally prescribing the muscle-building aids and of course David and I give our thoughts on this.

We wrap up a few other Steelers topics before closing the show with our weekly pick of all the games around the NFL and that includes our score prediction of the Steelers-Bengals game in addition.

About Dave Bryan

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

Off subject recommendation (cuz o-line grades are off the page & I want u to for sure see this)…although I have never coached NFL football, I’m pretty sure u grade as the coaches do. In my opinion it could be improved. It seems as if u pore over the film anyway..so your well-informede judgement should be allowed. I feel line grades would better be represented better for what we actually see during the game from a production standpoint like this: failure stays as is…a draw becomes 1/2 win & 1/2 fail…and a pure win only happens if u deem that effective movement is made in the correct direction that u have determined the play was designed to do. I can tell u have the acumen to do that. And then the scores would make more sense for how the game went. I have a feeling that o-line coaches and d-line coaches from opponent have many plays where they both give wins to their respective linemen . That inherently means the grading scales need improvement

Clarification : I meant that a titans d-line coach and a Steeler o-line coach likely had many plays where they gave their respective linemen “pure wins”. On the very same play. That seems inaccurate.
