Ike Taylor Named AFC Defensive Player Of The Week

New York Giants wide receivers Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz made it a point to say prior to their Sunday game that the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive backs get away with holding too much.

The Steelers of course wound up winning the game and on Wednesday it was Ike Taylor that was holding an award after being named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Taylor did have an interception in the game and he only allowed one reception out of four passes thrown in his direction. He also dropped another interception in the end zone on the play that ended with safety Ryan Clark unjustly being penalized for hitting Cruz.

Taylor has a good reputation as a tackler and chipped in 7 combined in the game.

While Taylor did have a good game, I really am surprised that he won this award. Is this a peace offering of sorts from the league to the Steelers because of all the bad calls in the game?

Tell what you think.
