Report: Still Doesn\’t Look Good That Roethlisberger Will Play After Thursday Practice

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger talked to the media on Thursday and discussed how he has progressed so far in practice in regard to his injured rib and right shoulder.

The talk was prior to the team practicing on Thursday and the Steelers quarterback said that while pain is still an issue, arm strength was a bigger one. He was still holding out hope, however, that he might have a chance to play Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens just the same.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on Twitter after practice was over that it does not look good that Roethlisberger will play Sunday. That would led you to believe that Thursday practice did not include the Steelers quarterback making progress.

If the report on Thursday stands, Charlie Batch will make his second consecutive start on Sunday in Baltimore. That has been the plan the entire week and it does not look like Roethlisberger will be able to alter it.

How about the full injury report!? We already knew Ben was going to be limited all week

Even if Big Ben can’t throw it over 10 yards just his presence on the field is going to effect the rest of the team positively and he knows the plays better.

Unlike the 49ers game last year his mobility is not going to be an issue. And I definitely wouldn’t wanna be the guy who jumps a route banking that Ben can’t throw and end up with it 70 down field on a double move.

The Charlie Batch pplz were expecting more last week based off last year. He was an expert in the playbook back then, he had been in that offense for 10 years or w/e Charlie is no more experienced in the Todd Hailey Offense than the next guy now.

Ben’s health over the next few games is ultimately more important than beating the Ravens.
