Steelers Injury Report: LaMarr Woodley & Mike Adams Injured In Loss To Browns

The injury situation for the Pittsburgh Steelers injury situation didn\’t improve Sunday in the 20-14 loss to the Cleveland Browns as both outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley (ankle) and right tackle Mike Adams (ankle) suffered ankle injuries in the game.

Woodley tried to come back early after his injury, but ultimately ended up giving way to Jason Worilds, who filled in admirably. Woodley said after the game the he got rolled up on during a play, but thinks that he might be back next week.

Adams was carted to the Steelers locker room after suffering his injury in the third quarter and was spotted after the game wearing a boot on his left leg. Head coach Mike Tomlin said after the game that both players will be evaluated and that he will update their conditions on Tuesday. There was no update given on running back Chris Rainey, who was also injured late in the game.

Tomlin refused to speculate after the game if players such as Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Marcus Gilbert or Troy Polamalu will be ready to return to action next week against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Steelers also kept left guard Willie Colon sidelined Sunday against the Browns as well. Colon did not show up on the the injury report until Friday with a knee injury, but was listed as probable just the same after reportedly being limited on Friday. Tomlin said that it was apparent during warmups that Colon was unable to go today so Doug Legursky started in his place at left guard.

Have Colon start at tackle next week and have Legursky at guard. I don’t think Beachum will do well against Kruger at all. I pray for Ben to come back, Batch did not preform well at all. And as far as I am concerned Jonathan Dwyer needs to start at Running Back.

  • Reader783

I agree with Dwyer starting. But is sounds like Colon might not be ready, so we might have to consider other options

  • SG

This team is just getting hammered with injuries. By the time guys heal up, it may be too late.

  • Thomas Rancy

it’s decastro time with O line injuries and hopefully gilbert can come back

  • Buccos9

The offensive line is another area where things are a mess. This is partly due to injury, but also because Tomlin seems to prefer versatile stiffs who are poor at all positions rather than competent backups who may be decent at one position but can’t play others.

  • Kevin Gobleck

I hope that we do that with DeCastro just keep him at Guard and that is it. We did that with Pouncey at center and look how good he turned out. Well I hope that there catching on that if you keep a guy at one position he gets great at the position. But don’t get me wrong I love having a Hybrid or two to fill any quick needs or injury that we may have.

  • Kevin Gobleck

I am hoping that since Colon was more of a game time decision he will be able to go, and Gilbert “could” comeback this week. That and having DeCastro come back would make things a hell of a lot easier, but that is just a prayer.

  • Maurice_hill_district

If DeCastro plays well, Im afraid that out of desparation & lack of talent at o tackle & injuries there, Steelers could play DeCastro at o tackle. Cant say Id blame them, he could learn it. But itd be jerking him around because our o line sucks.

  • Maurice_hill_district

Insult to injury is the lousy Jonathan Scott & Matt Spaeth were interviewed for they helped their team win this weekend.

  • Kevin Gobleck

That is why we must also pray for the return or Gilbert/Colon for the game, along with DeCastro. Man I think we could get in good shape if Decastro and Gilbert return.
