Steelers Versus Ravens Projected Inactive List

With the Friday injury report out of the way, and no roster moves expected to be made between now and the game, we can now throw out our look at what the Pittsburgh Steelers inactive list will look like for the Sunday night game against the Baltimore Ravens.

4 of the 7 names on the list this week will be inactive this week because those players have been ruled out for the game due to injuries and 1 more on the list was listed as questionable. Those players are: Marcus Gilbert, Troy Polamalu, Antonio Brown, Ben Roethlisberger, and Stevenson Sylvester. That leaves two spots left to be filled on the inactive list and they appear to be fairly easy to figure out.

Ben Roethlisberger – Roethlisberger will be sidelined indefinitely with a right SC shoulder sprain and a dislocated rib. There is no timetable for his return and only speculation at this point. He figures to be sidelined for at least three weeks at a minimum and maybe longer.

Troy Polamalu – Polamalu will miss his 6th game in a row due to his injured calf. He was not able to practice any at all this past week and you have to wonder now if he will even play next week against the Cleveland Browns now as a result.

Marcus Gilbert – Gilbert was unable to practice at all this past week after being limited for one practice the week prior. There has been no word that he suffered a setback with his injured ankle, but you have to wonder if that indeed might have been the case. This will be the fifth game in a row the second year tackle has missed.

Antonio Brown – The left high ankle sprain suffered by Brown against the New York Giants did not improve enough for him to be able to practice this past week. This will be the second game in a row missed for Brown, who hopefully can get himself back in the lineup for the second game against the Ravens in two weeks. It would not be surprising to see him miss the game next week against the Browns.

Stevenson Sylvester – Sylvester was looking like he might make it back this week after practicing fully Wednesday and Thursday, but his limited participation on Friday, along with his questionable listing on the injury report, likely means that he will be down Sunday night.

Adrian Robinson – The Steelers promoted Marshall McFadden this past week to help on special teams, and due the numbers of running backs that will likely dress for this game, it means that Robinson will likely be the odd man out and inactive.

DeMarcus Van Dyke – Van Dyke was inactive last week after being active for the game against the Giants. With David Gilreath still on the roster, and the extra running back likely to dress, Van Dyke appears to be the odd man out once again.
