The Terrible Podcast – Steelers Browns Game Recap Episode

Steelers PodcastSeason 3, Episode 47 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I get right into the debacle that took place in Cleveland on Sunday as the Pittsburgh Steelers dropped to 6-5 on the season thanks to their 20-14 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Unfortunately there is a not a lot of good to talk about on the offensive side of the ball as David and I discuss the play of Charlie Batch and the four running backs that contributed greatly to the loss. We also discuss head coach Mike Tomlin and the decisions that he made in the game that were somewhat reckless. We look at the offense as a whole and find very few bright spots in the process.

On defense it is a different story and we talk about both the good and the bad from the game. Is James Harrison back? Was that the Jason Worilds we have been waiting to see all of these years? As good as the defense played it still wasn\’t good enough.

What about Chris Rainey? What is his future with this team now? We discuss the injury situation of the Steelers heading into rematch against the Baltimore Ravens and of course that includes talking about Ben Roethlisberger and if he should be “rushed” back.

We try to put everything into perspective coming out of the loss to help slow down the mass bridge jumping that seems to be taking place. A lot to talk about in this episode that includes several other talking points that I have failed to mention here.

What’s crazy to me is that despite how poorly the Steelers played, they had multiple chances to win the game!? Ahead by 1 at halftime and with the ball in good field position multiple times in the second half. They killed many of their own chances with turnovers and penalties, but it’s also hard not to overlook the fumble that wasn’t by Richardson at the very end. Peter King of SI called out Winter in his MMQB column this morning. The Steelers had no business winning, but Winters missing that call right in front him is inexcusable. The Steelers could have at least had one more chance to blow it.
