Ravens Fire Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron, Promote QB Coach Jim Caldwell

They are probably dancing in the streets today in Baltimore on Monday as several media outlets are reporting that the Baltimore Ravens have fired offensive coordinator Cam Cameron and replaced him with quarterbacks coach Jim Caldwell.

Cameron has been under heavy criticism for some time now, and especially this year, as it relates to his use of running back Ray Rice, who has 218 carries for 993 yards through the first 13 games.

Caldwell was hired just this past offseason as the quarterbacks coach after previously being the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.

It is not often that you hear 9-4 teams making changes to their coaching staff this late in the season, but the Ravens are mired in a two game losing streak thanks to losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins and they have three tough games remaining against the Denver Broncos, New York Giants and the Cincinnati Bengals.

While it is unlikely that the Ravens will miss the playoffs, it could indeed happen should they lose out.
