Steelers Injury Report: Keenan Lewis, Curtis Brown & Mike Wallace Sit Out Wednesday

The Pittsburgh Steelers were back indoors on their practice field Wednesday as they started preparations for their season finale this Sunday at Heinz Field against the Cleveland Browns.

The first injury report of the week is now out and it shows that cornerback Curtis Brown (ankle), cornerback Keenan Lewis (knee), wide receiver Mike Wallace (hip) and safety Troy Polamalu (not injury related) all sat out practice on Wednesday.

Practicing on a limited basis was tackle Mike Adams (ankle). The Steelers rookie has not played since going down in the Week 12 loss to the Browns.

Practicing fully on Wednesday was guard David DeCastro (hamstring).

The Steelers also announced on Wednesday that cornerback Ike Taylor (ankle), tight end Heath Miller (knee) and running back Baron Batch (arm) had been placed on the injured reserve list.

Damnit if I’m coaching this team, I’d pull Curtis Brown aside and let him know that he has done ZERO to earn the week off unlike some other guys that are being allowed to sit this week. I’d hate for there to be any misunderstanding about exactly which side of the acceptability threshold he has played on this year.

Well I would hope Troy and Lewis wont even play this week.. no need to injure Troy and Lewis has shown he is more than capable as a starter, why risk further injuring him as well or adding to his stat line. I’d probably also play ILB Marshall Mcfadden more to see what he has and rest Timmons

Of course none of that will happen and we’ll end up getting 2-3 starting guys injured, while not giving any up and coming guys a shot
