Report: Former Chargers O-Line Coach Hal Hunter Jr. Left Senior Bowl With A Job

On Tuesday I posted my thoughts on former San Diego Chargers offensive line coach Hal Hunter Jr., who I deemed as a strong candidate to become the Pittsburgh Steelers next offensive line coach. As it turns out, Hunter was down at the Senior Bowl this past week looking for a new job. Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune tweeted on Thursday that Hunter appears to have found one and that an announcement will likely come sometime this week.

While we do not know if the Steelers are the team that hired Hunter, we do know that his new job will not be with the Jacksonville Jaguars as they announced on Thursday that they have hired George Yarno to be their next offensive line coach. There are also still a few openings around the league as well and that includes the Philadelphia Eagles, who have yet to name a replacement for Howard Mudd.

As I mentioned previously, Hunter is from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania and has links to the Steelers organization as well.

Stay tuned.
