The Pittsburgh Steelers made another offseason signing on Friday as linebacker Kion Wilson was signed to a reserve/future contract, according to a source.
Wilson was originally signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent following the 2010 drat after playing his college ball at the University of South Florida.
Wilson was released by the Chargers prior to the start of the 2010 season and spent the first three games on their practice squad before being promoted to the their 53 man roster in week 4. He played in three games for the Chargers before being placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury.
Wilson was back in training camp with the Chargers in 2011 but released prior to the start of the 2011 season. He was signed to the practice squad of the Carolina Panthers and eventual promoted to their 53 man roster for five games.
Wilson was with the Panthers in training camp this past season but released prior to the start of the season.
Wilson has 6 total tackles to his credit since coming into the league and has forced 1 fumble.
At the 2010 NFL combine Wilson measured in at just over 6 feet tall and weighed 239 pounds. He did 27 reps on the bench and ran an unofficial 40 yard dash time of 4.87.
