Wednesday wasn\’t as busy of a day around the AFC North as most of the splash was made on Tuesday. There were a few moves in the division, however, and here is your recap of day two.
Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers had a few moves that they made on Wednesday and quarterback Bruce Gradkowski was the big name. The former Bengals backup might go down as the biggest free agent signing by the Steelers of the off-season. Last year that distinction went to tight end Leonard Pope. The team did lose another one of their unrestricted free agents, however, as running back Rashard Mendenhall signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals. The only other move made on Wednesday by the Steelers was the re-signing of long snapper Greg Warren to a one-year contract.
Baltimore Ravens – The Ravens lost another defensive player on Wednesday as they released safety Bernard Pollard. The Ravens are also watching the status of safety Ed Reed very closely moving forward as it is possible that he could be out the door as early as Thursday or Friday.
Cleveland Browns – Â The Browns continued their busy week as former Carolina Panthers tight end Gary Barnidge was signed on Wednesday to a three-year, $3.75 million contract. Also signed was former Arizona Cardinals linebacker Quentin Groves, who agreed to a two-year, $2.8 million deal. Running back Chris Ogbonnaya was also re-signed on Wednesday to a two-year contract.
Cincinnati Bengals – Not only did the Bengals lose Gradkowski to the Steelers, but they also lost linebacker Manny Lawson to the Buffalo Bills and defensive tackle Pat Sims to the Oakland Raiders. Kicker Josh Brown also left via free agency as he signed with the New York Giants on Wednesday.
