Report: Former Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw To Visit Steelers Later This Week

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports Tuesday evening on Twitter that former New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw is expected to visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers at some point during this week. During his visit, the Steelers are expected to explore his health and medicals, according to the report.

Bradshaw, who just turned 27 this past week, has undergone three known surgeries on his right foot as well as procedures on his left foot and both ankles. His latest surgery took place back in January, and he said in a radio interview last week that he was waiting to make free agent visits until he was healthy enough to show teams what he has.

“I’ve decided not to work out with teams yet,” Bradshaw said in an interview with ESPN Radio in New York, via the Newark Star-Ledger. “I want to be as healthy as I can be, I want to be explosive, and I want teams to see what they are able to get. Right now, I’m working on that, and I think it’s coming along faster and faster. I’m walking around without the boot.”

Bradshaw has also reportedly garnered the interest of the Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets in addition to the Steelers. Last season he rushed for 1,015 yards on 221 carries and scored six touchdowns.

The Steelers are working with very limited salary cap space right now, so there is no guarantee that they will be able to afford Bradshaw at this time. The team might just want to get a good look at him, in case they are unable to come out of the draft next month with a running back.
