Steelers Bring Former Cardinals S James Sanders In For A Visit On Thursday

Former New York Giants ruining back Ahmad Bradshaw is visiting with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, and so too is safety James Sanders, who was with the Arizona Cardinals last season.

Sanders was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL draft out of Fresno State. He played six seasons with the Patriots before being released prior to the start of the 2011 season.

Last year with the Cardinals, Sanders played just over 120 snaps on defense in 15 games. He is mostly regarded as a backup safety and special teams player at this point in his career, however.

The Steelers might be looking to sign a veteran to help push the younger safeties on the roster now that both Ryan Mundy and Will Allen have both left this offseason via free agency. Allen signed with the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday.
