That\’s Right, James Harrison Wants To Play For The Saints Too

Bill Parise, the agent for former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison, is burning up the cell phone minutes on Sunday.

Not only is Harrison interested in playing for the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens, but the New Orleans Saints as well, according to a report in The Times-Picayune.

Stop me if you have heard this before.

“The Saints would be a great fit,” Parise said Sunday afternoon.

The Saints are switching to a 3-4 defense in 2013, but like the Ravens, they have serious salary cap issues and have been restructuring contracts right and left in order to clear cap room. Perhaps they can pay Harrison in bounty money.

Larry Holder says in his Sunday report, which echoes mine from Saturday night, that the Saints would like defensive end Junior Galette to become an outside linebacker in the new system being instituted by new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan after agreeing to a new three-year contract Saturday. Martez Wilson is expected to be the starter opposite Galette.

Which team will Harrison next be interested in playing for? Place your bets.
