Last week, we passed along the news about Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress having his drivers license suspended, and today we get news that he will have his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia home auctioned off as well.
Mike Garafolo of USA Today reports on Monday that Judge H. Thomas Padrick Jr. has ordered the auction of Burress\’ home to satisfy liens against the property due to a judgment resulting from the 2008 traffic accident in Florida that we mentioned last week.
Burress reportedly owes $159,000 to a Florida woman who claims the veteran wide receiver rear-ended her nearly five years ago when he was with the New York Giants. He has yet to settle that judgment, and it resulted first in his license being suspended.
Burress re-signed with the Steelers earlier this offseason after catching just three passes for 42 yards and a touchdown in limited playing time late last season. The Steelers former first-round draft pick signed back with the team that originally drafted him last season after both Antonio Brown and Jerricho Cotchery went down with injuries.
Burress needs to really get busy selling more of those fancy socks in order to save his home.
