Ravens LB Rolando McClain Arrested Sunday In Alabama

Quite a few in the fanbase were hoping that the Pittsburgh Steelers would sign inside linebacker Rolando McClain after he was waived from the Oakland Raiders earlier this month. I insisted, that despite head coach Mike Tomlin once having high praise for the Alabama product, that the Steelers weren\’t likely to touch him, regardless of the price.

McClain, who I pointed out has had several run-ins with the police since being drafted in the first round of the 2010 draft, has now been arrested once again. Nick Banaszak, of WHNT TV reports Sunday evening that McClain was arrested  Sunday in his hometown of Decatur, Alabama and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after an incident at a local park.

McClain signed a one-year, $700,000 contract with the Baltimore Ravens less than two weeks ago and the deal allows him to earn another $400,000 through playing-time incentives. The Ravens are hopeful that McClain can fill the shoes left by Ray Lewis, who is now retired, but he certainly isn\’t off to a great start.

    That’s a shame…

Off the field issues aside, it will take much much more than Rolando McClain to fill the shoes of Ray Lewis even on Lewis’ worst day!! Just glad we didn’t sign him!

More ammo for why I’ve been saying to stay away from character issue guys. They generally are repeat offenders until they mature and overcome their problems. Hopefully, the Steelers do the right thing and send the right message to their fans by NOT drafting any character issue guys.

Glass houses, to the posters who forgot we kept Taamu. McClain could get Taamu’s attorney to plead the resisting arrest was all self-defense. Not that I’m a fan of McClain.

Granted that Ta’amu offended since being drafted. The difference here is McClain had multiple arrests on a variety of charges and had also been arrested earlier this year, like immediately after the season was over.

Ta’amu might mature, but it’s looking pretty good that McClain is a terminal headcase.

Just shows that we give athletic thugs money to play football. thses guys should be mentally tested before being given millions of dollars.
