Report: Steelers Looking To Trade RB Jonathan Dwyer On Saturday

Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network is reporting Saturday morning on Twitter that the Pittsburgh Steelers are trying to trade running back Jonathan Dwyer.

Dwyer, the Steelers sixth-round draft pick in 2010, is considered to be the more marketable running back on the roster currently, but is also only under contract for 2013 after signing a one-year restricted tender in the amount of $1.323 million.

The Steelers drafted Michigan State running back Le\’Veon Bell in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft on Friday and they also added free agent LaRod Stephens-Howling to the roster on Friday in addition.

Neither Dwyer nor Isaac Redman really have much trade value right now and the Steelers would be doing good to get a seventh round draft pick for either of them being as neither are signed past the 2013 season.

UPDATE: Take this for what it is worth: Scout Dave-Te Thomas emailed me to tell me Dwyer is actively being shopped & Denver wants him for Joe Mays.

UPDATE TWO: The details of Mays contract show a base due in 2013 of $4 million, so you can scratch that as an option. 2014 $3.5 million
