As expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting UCLA running back Johnathan Franklin and TCU wide receiver Josh Boyce for pre draft visits on Thursday, according to Bob Labriola on Twitter
Franklin played in 14 games last season, as the senior set a school season-record with 1,734 yards rushing, placing second on the Bruins’ annual chart with 282 carries (6.15 ypc) while running for thirteen touchdown. His yardage total topped the previous school record of 1,571 yards by Karim Abdul-Jabbar in 1995, as Abdul-Jabbar’s  296 rushing attempts that season is the only figure ahead of Franklin’s 282 on the record list.
Franklin\’s agility test numbers were as follows: 4.40 in the 40-yard dash, 1.53 10-yard dash, 2.55 20-yard dash, 4.16 20-yard shuttle, 11.23 60-yard shuttle, 6.79 three-cone drill, 35-inch vertical jump, 9’10” broad jump, Bench pressed 225 pounds 17 times.
Boyce recorded 66 catches for 891 yards and 7 touchdowns last season at TCU. He worked at the NFL combine last month despite a broken foot and posted some very good numbers. 4.34 in the 40-yard dash, 1.54 10-yard dash, 2.51 20-yard dash, 4.10 20-yard shuttle, 6.68 three-cone drill, 34-inch vertical jump, 10’11” broad jump, and bench pressed 225 pounds 22 times.
The Steelers are almost certain to draft at least one running back and one wide receiver later this month. Franklin is regarded mostly as a compliment back, while Boyce is regarded as a slot receiver.
