According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Alabama running back Eddie Lacy visited the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.
Lacy had a lackluster pro day just last week and several reported that he looked both unprepared and out of shape for it. He reportedly ran 4.57 and 4.60 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He measured in at 5110, 231 pounds and posted a 33.5 inch vertical jump to go along with a 7.33 three cone drill time.
In 37 games at Alabama, Lacy rushed for 2,402 yards and 30 touchdowns on 355 carries for a 6.77 yards per carry average. He also chipped in another 338 yards on 35 receptions.
Lacy is a big back that runs well between the tackles and is also accustomed to the inside-outside zone scheme. He runs well behind his pads and maintains good balance despite not having the most coordinated of footwork. Lacy is also not known for his pass protection skills, as most of the time he will only offer up a turned in shoulder.
Lacy is a north-south runner that best fits a power offensive scheme like he ran during his time at Alabama. He could very well fall out of the first round of the draft thanks to concerns that scouts have now about his work ethic.
