Steelers RB Isaac Redman Signs $1.323 Million Restricted Tender

According to the official daily transaction release issued Thursday by the NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Isaac Redman has signed his $1.323 million restricted tender offer and is now under contract for the 2013 season.

The deadline for restricted free agents to receive offer sheets from other teams is Friday.

Redman, who was originally signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Bowie State, rushed for 410 yards and 2 touchdowns last season on 110 carries. He also caught 19 passes for 244 yards in addition.

Redman and fellow running back Jonathan Dwyer, who signed his one-year restricted tender several weeks ago, will now battle at training camp for roster spots.

The Steelers also have running back Baron Batch under contract for 2013 after he signed his exclusive rights tender and they are also expected to draft a running back next week during the 2013 NFL draft.
