Steelers Re-sign LB Stevenson Sylvester To A One-Year Contract

The Pittsburgh Steelers re-signed linebacker Stevenson Sylvester to a one-year deal on Wednesday, according to Bob Labriola on Twitter.

The Steelers had decided not to restricted tender Sylvester, their fifth round draft pick in 2010, prior to the start of free agency, so thus he became a free agent at the start of the new league year.

In his first three seasons in the league, Sylvester has played all of 75 snaps on defense as he has been mainly used on special teams. Last season he missed a good part of the preseason and the first three regular season games after he suffered a knee injury that needed a procedure.

Terms of the one-year deal are not yet released, but it is expected to be for the minimum.
