Report: Steelers LB Chris Carter Seen Leaving Practice Early On Wednesday

The Pittsburgh Steelers second practice of the first OTA session of the 2013 season is now underway and Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported during his interview on Trib Live Radio that he observed linebacker Chris Carter leaving the building early.

It\’s way to early to speculate what might be going on with Carter, but we sure hope that it isn\’t injury related. Carter, the Steelers fifth-round pick in 2011, ended the 2012 season on injured reserve with an abdominal injury and also missed time during his rookie season with a hamstring injury.

I am sure that Kaboly will track this story down as the day progresses and we will pass along any news that he reports. We will also be waiting to see if rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones works on Wednesday as well. Jones apparently missed some time on Tuesday and it is speculated that he may have aggravated a hamstring injury.

UPDATE: Carter practiced today.

Uh-oh… interesting… not what you want to hear regarding a 3rd yr player fighting for a roster spot

To Dave B: aren’t you worried Guy Whimper instead of Starks’s gonna dampen Steelers’s season? What was Colbert’s reason for not signing Starks instead of Whimper?

  • steeltown

I’m not sure Colbert had a choice in the matter. Starks wanted the opportunity to start, it takes two to tango, maybe it was Starks choice to not return. Also, Whimper is not Max’s replacement (starting LT) Whimper is nothing more than a camp body and/or backup RT

Even though I dig reading everything Steelers, these speculative reports from Kaboly bother me.
“I saw Ben eating breakfast…” Report-Ben’s stomach is upset.

    Ha!

  • SteelersDepot

I would suggest not reading them if they bother you. Problem solved and no charge.

  • Berlusconi

Would you rather see Whimper or Beachum, if, god forbid, Adams can’t play? I think Beachum is good enough for the backup spot at RT. So hopefully Whimper is only a camp body.

  • steeltown

There’s a good chance that Whimper doesn’t make the Team for sure and yea Beachum and Foster are both candidates to kick out and play RT

    UPDATE: Carter practiced today.

    Good news

  • westcoasteeler

Oh no, my apologies, cause then I’d complain that there are no speculative reports coming out of Steelers OTA’s.

Glad Carter’s back practicing. Thanks for letting us know.
