Lions Sign Former Steelers S Chris Hope On Monday

Tim Twentyman reports Monday via Twitter that the Detroit Lions have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Chris Hope.

Hope, who was originally drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft, played in 16 games the Atlanta Falcons in 2012 after spending the previous six seasons with the Tennessee Titans.

The Lions signing of Hope might mean starting safety Louis Delmas won\’t be ready for the start of training camp. Delmas reportedly is still being bothered by knee pain after missing eight games last season and 13 over the past two seasons due to the lingering injury.

In case you might have forgotten, the Steelers will host the Lions in Week 11 of the 2013 season.
