Formers Steelers WR Bert Reed Suspended For Four Games

Thursday was not a good day for former Pittsburgh Steelers players as free agent wide receiver Bert Reed joined Indianapolis Colts tight end Weslye Saunders on the 2013 suspended list. The league has not announced the reason for Reed\’s suspension, but it will be for four games.

Reed, who broke into the league as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns in 2012, bounced around with the  Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Denver Broncos prior to landing with the Steelers as a member of their practice squad.

Reed was signed to a futures contract after the 2012 season ended, but was released in late April when the team needed a roster spot for veteran punter Brian Moorman.
