Heath Miller, Sean Spence, David Johnson & Alameda Ta\’amu Placed On PUP List

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his first training camp press conference on Friday afternoon following the completion of the team conditioning test and told the media that tight end Heath Miller (knee), tight end David Johnson, linebacker Sean Spence (knee) and nose tackle Alameda Ta\’amu (hamstring) would begin camp on the Active PUP list

Tomlin said the hamstring probklem that Ta\’amu has is a prexisting one that might have him sidelined for a few days. The coach also refused to speculate as to when any of the other three players would be ready to practice.

As far as tackle Mike Adams (stabbing) goes, Tomlin said that he has received full clearance which means he should be able to practice right away.

Tomlin said that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (knee) is still experiencing a little discomfort in the knee he had cleaned up at the end of OTA\’s, but that it won\’t stop him from doing what he needs to do in practice.

Tackle Marcus Gilbert was carted off after the run test, but Tomlin said that he didn\’t know anything about that. It appears as though Gilbert was just doubled over and perhaps extremely winded, but we will have to see if there is anything more to it than that.
