Steelers HC Mike Tomlin Reports No Injuries After First Day Of Training Camp Practice

The Pittsburgh Steelers have wrapped up their first training camp practice of the year and afterwards head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media on the field.

Tomlin said that there were no bumps or bruises to report today. That\’s great news especially considering how wet the fields were on Saturday because of all the rain.

As far as defensive end Al Woods continuing to get second-team work at nose tackle, Tomlin said that we shouldn\’t read too much into that. He went on to say Woods, along with several other players on the roster, are all vying for spots on the 53 man roster and the eight man practice squad.

Tomlin said that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger looked good today, as did everyone else, but he reminded us that it is still “football in shorts” season.

Not practicing on Saturday were of course tight end Heath Miller, tight end David Johnson, nose tackle Alameda Ta\’amu and linebacker Sean Spence as they all started training camp on the PUP list.

We will have a full recap of Saturday\’s practice later on this evening.
