Report: Steelers T Mike Adams Not Likely To Be Ready To Practice At Start Of Training Camp

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said Thursday during his online chat session that Pittsburgh Steelers tackle Mike Adams is not likely to practice right at the start of training camp as he continues to recover from being stabbed in an early morning carjacking attempt back on June 1.

Should this indeed be the case, then Adams will undoubtedly be placed on the Active PUP list on Friday when the team reports to Latrobe for the start of training camp.

This news shouldn\’t be overly surprising; however, as I wrote back in the middle of June that this was a distinct possibility due to the nature of the injuries that Adams suffered, which included him needing surgery to repair a lacerated colon.

Adams is not even a full eight weeks removed from surgery, so he might need another week or two to get himself back in football shape before he is allowed to practice.

Bouchette said he was told that Adams should be ready for the start of the season and that his recovery is on schedule.

In addition to Adams, tight end Heath Miller and linebacker Sean Spence are both expected to be listed on the Active PUP list on Friday.
