Twitter Has A New Standard As Steelers HC Mike Tomlin Is Now Tweeting

Twitter will have a new standard on Friday as Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is now reporting that Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has joined the social media network.

Tomlin, whose Twitter handle will be @coachtomlin, will reportedly start tweeting later this afternoon from training camp.

On Thursday, Burt Lauten, the Steelers public relations man, gave the heads up that someone in the organization would be joining Twitter and the obvious guess (see what I did there?) was that it would be Tomlin.

I am not sure how many Tomlinisms are 140 characters or less, but hopefully the coach lays a few new ones on us.

In reality, I doubt that we will see an abundance of tweets from Tomlin and he might just have someone substitute tweet for him.

If indeed Tomlin is social media engaged, at least he will be able to closely monitor his players tweets.
