Steelers G Ramon Foster Going To London Next Week

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was in London, England last week to promote the September game against the Minnesota Vikings that will be played at Wembley Stadium, and it appears as though guard Ramon Foster will travel overseas next week in an effort to promote the game as well.

Steelers PR man Burt Lauten reports Monday on Twitter that Foster will join other NFL players overseas next week, and one can easily speculate that he will make the media rounds while there just as Roethlisberger did.

According to the NFLUK website, Foster will be joined by Vikings defensive linemen Jared Allen and Kevin Williams; Jacksonville Jaguars offensive linemen Uche Nwaneri, and San Francisco 49ers safety Donte Whitner and they all be present for a Chalk Talk session in Hall 5 of the ICC, Broad Street, Birmingham, B1 2EA at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday July 17. Foster will apparently be talking about protecting Roethlisberger during the session.

Just in case the England media needs help pronouncing Foster\’s name, I have provided an instructional video below to help with that.

Just to clarify for you as a steelernationuk person. The UK is a minefield of terms but roughly we have the British media. We have the England cricket and football teams and we are called the United Kingdom. Scotland Wales England and northern Ireland compose the UK. England Wales and Scotland are great Britain. England just isn’t used geographically anymore, although English is used to describe where someone is from. Andy Murray is Scottish and British. Glad to be of assistance gentlemen 🙂

3 year contract extension and then chosen to represent the Steelers in London…all adds up to confidence in the man which will pay dividends during 2012 and into the future!

Why do the Steelers send Ramon Foster to the UK? They could have sent Keisel, Foote or Troy, guys that have played for the Steelers and started for years. Clark and Pouncy would be much better representatives of the team.

Because, who really wants to go to London to promote the game? Like, who cares?
