Chargers Release Former Steelers T Max Starks On Friday

The San Diego Chargers announced a few of their cuts on Friday and they included former Pittsburgh Steelers tackle Max Starks.

Starks, who signed a one-year, $2 million contract in May, didn’t have a good preseason and only played 63 snaps in total.

With the veteran tackle now unemployed, he will likely remain that way until after the start of the regular season. Should a team sign him prior to that, they would have to fully guarantee his base salary because he’s a vested veteran.

Starks was the only Steelers player to play every snap on offense last season, but it is clear now that the team made the right decision in not bringing him back during the offseason.
