You Mad Bro? Chris Rainey Says He Wants A Piece Of The Steelers

Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Chris Rainey has yet to be signed by a team since he was released back in early January, but he told cornerback Curtis Brown Wednesday night on Twitter that he can’t wait to play his former team, when and if he ever plays again.

Rainey tweeted, “still waitin on this call, u know I’m goin to have to do y’all when I get back Bruh. I’m sooo mad at the steelers still!!!”

Rainey only has himself to blame right now for being unemployed as he forced the Steelers’ hand due to his character issues. While the January battery charge was eventually reduced to disorderly contact, Rainey’s poor history of dealing with the opposite sex was a pattern that the Steelers wanted nothing to do with. Obviously other teams feel the same way.

At this point, Rainey should consider himself lucky should another team ultimately give him a chance, but being as he is still looking for a job with the start of the regular season now right around the corner, he’s probably played his last down of football in the NFL.

I don’t think the Steelers have to worry about the Florida product doing them any time soon. Perhaps he should consider doing in an Arena team instead.

    I’m still confused….
Did Chris do something all 32 teams know about that we don’t?
Why is he still at home???

  • CW

Multiple assault incidents with women he’s dating, some other physical altercations, plus a few college drinking and driving incidents as well.

Basically he’s a huge PR headache for a KR/PR specialist with 3rd down back potential.

  • bgsteelfan

You mean aside from the multiple run-ins with the law followed by repeated public comments, including this one, that amount to “It’s not MY fault, it’s everyone else trying to do me in.”? He has character issues, and he keeps broadcasting to teams that he hasn’t grown up and doesn’t get it. His talent isn’t enough to overcome that unless a team gets desperate…

  • TJimmy

His toughness was also in question.

  • gene mann

Chris might have lost his mind he probablly got his head clocked to many times with the steelers

  • gene mann

MR Fumbles and cant take a hit

  • sean mcmartin

    Surprised Arizona is not interested

  • WilliamSekinger

Don’t forget his huge gambling problem.

  • dgh57

I see he still hasn’t accepted responsibility for his own actions in his wanting to get back at the Steelers. Posting that Tweet didn’t help his cause to play again either!

maybe he should get on his knees and say hes sorry to people who talked the steelers into giving him a chance then say hes sorry to steelers then maybe just maybe some team some where in nfl or out of it will give him a second chance but till he grows up and sees the light he wont ever play again i hope he got a degree in college hes going to need it the way it seems …

  • Pete

He might do well in the CFL and try to make it back to the NFL with good behavior. Yeah, I know. It does sound like a prison sentence, doesn’t it.?

  • Kusko_Ken

    He Hate Us.

  • Michael Pearce

He also sucked at a RB as well. So happy he is gone. Maybe he should try McDonalds. Who cares if he was someone’s 5th RB if given the chance. Pittsburgh aint shaking in their boots.

  • Jakob

Chris, you did it to yourself. Another idiot who squandered an opportunity so many people dream about

  • Mike.H

    CSI Las Vegas or Miami?

  • Jason

Considering my 10 year old son could tackle this soft running punk I don’t think LeBeau will worry himself sick coming up with a gameplan to stop him if anyone ever decides to sign him to a 1 year deal for the veteran minimum.

  • James Kling

He never rushed for many yards, but man he got there fast. Same thing in life, apparently: not going anywhere, getting there fast. Speed kills!

  • stairman

well you would think a smart person would show some regret, apologize sincerly, and get some therapy under his belt to show he is a changed man. This might buy him a second chance. Instead he believes he was the victim. Some people just don’t ever get it. and i thought hhe did have talent and potential. such a waste!

  • Shea Fahr

He must be referring to his Madden 13 video game.

  • Kyle Owens

LOL. I’m still mad at Google for not hiring me as VP of Operations. I will have my revenge!

  • JohnnyV1

Curtis Brown might want to reconsider who he keeps in touch with. And the Steelers might want to reconsider sourcing the Pouncey twins as references for any potential draft picks and/or free agents. Those two don’t look so clean with the Hernandez events coming to light, and their support of him (da hatz).

  • StrengthOfVictory

I’d be mad too if this time last year, I was showing a remarkable level of potential for breaking KR touchdowns…catching the eyes of coaches and fans alike…and then went and crapped away all my chances at an NFL career.

    I’d be really mad…at myself.

  • Kenneth Wilt

So the Steelers cut him…no other of the 32 teams in the NFL want him….but he is mad at the Steelers. That’s right they must have made him treat women badly…that it.

  • Beatlejuice

I think he was referring to Madden 25. Maybe he is going to be a no nonsense commissioner who will severely punish the Steelers during the upcoming season. He may have already traded Ben R. and the top three draft picks of last year for Tim Tebow, oh how cruel you are Mr. Rainey, how cruel your are.

  • steeltown

Dumb….. though he still could land a job at some point during the season, when some Team is desperate.. a couple months ago I might’ve said Belichick might scoop him up, but NOT after this Hernandez debacle

  • Rick Tilves

LMAO !! What a Clown. he will never play in the NFL to “get back at the Steelers”.

  • GOD

You don’t get outside much do you.
